About Akash Chakravarti
Akash lives with his parents, his brother Vikas, and two sisters, Ekta and Shirshti. They live in a small, poor village in Central India. Their home is a one-room mud hut. Akash likes to help his mom with household chores such as collecting firewood and cow pies as fuel to cook on and carrying jugs to the well, over 100 meters away, to fetch their daily supply of water.
Akash would like to be a lawyer one day. He enjoys reading, drawing, and playing volleyball. The family’s diet is very simple, consisting of dal (lentils), rice, and chapati, an Indian flatbread. On very special occasions, the family will kill a chicken and enjoy chicken curry. And sometimes, the boys are lucky enough to catch a fish from the nearby river.
Please pray for Akash, his family, and village as they are generations old Hindus and our prayer is that the entire village will come to know the Lord. Your sponsorship will provide an education for Akash, along with his school supplies, uniform, shoes, lunch, and other basic needs.
