About Abhishek Katara

Abhishek Katara is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. He lives with his parents, two brothers, and three sisters in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals as they cannot afford propane. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home, which makes gathering water each day tedious and laborious.

Both of his parents are unskilled laborers, which means they take on arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Since both of his parents work outside the home, Abhishek helps with gardening, fetching water, tending livestock, and household chores. Abhishek loves to read. Understanding the value of education, Abhishek wants to become a teacher one day and we want to help provide the education that he will need to achieve this goal! He enjoys dancing and playing cricket. His favorite foods are chicken, chapatti, and mutton. Abhishek comes from a Christian family who prays together daily. Abhishek needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Abhishek!
