About Manisha Kumari Bhagora
Manisha lives with her parents and one brother in a small mud hut in a remote village in West India. This village is located in a valley where the climate is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. They do not have electricity. The water well the family uses is about 700 feet from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is an unskilled low-waged laborer. Her mother is a homemaker and even though she is very young, Manisha helps her momma with household chores and with fetching water from the well. Manisha wants to become a teacher one day. In her spare time, Manisha enjoys playing kho-kho with her friends. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.
