About Yashpal Thakur
Yashpal is a handsome, physically and mentally handicapped young man. He is unable to walk but enjoys using his hand-propelled tricycle. He has been studying at the Oasis of Love School for the last twelve years but it has been a big adjustment for him. Yashpal has not always liked to study, but his teachers have helped him to develop good study habits. Yashpal is also learning to make things with his hands. He has learned to make beautiful bags and is also learning embroidery. Yashpal is very talented and is being taught different stitching techniques to help him in his future endeavors. He is also learning to play an Indian musical instrument called the Harmonium. Yashpal was very happy and grateful to get a new uniform, socks and shoes, and a school bag.
Yashpal is not a child anymore, but Oasis of Love is the only place where he can feel safe and loved while his parents are at work.
