About Vinod Ahirwal
Vinod Ahirwal lives with his parents, grandfather, one brother, and two sisters in a small brick and mud house in a remote village in Central India. The climate in this village is hot and humid with heavy monsoons in the summer. The village is located near a river. The family uses wood and cow-pies as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is about 100 meters from their home.
Vinod helps with gardening, and household chores such as gathering wood, drying out cow pies, carrying buckets of water from the well, and babysitting his siblings. His dad and mom are both laborers, which means they are always looking for manual jobs they can do to make money for the family. Vinod wants to become a social worker one day. He enjoys dancing, singing, and reading. He also enjoys playing carom (an Indian game) and cricket. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetables, chicken, and fish.
Vinod comes from a Christian family. They pray together daily. Vinod needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Vinod!
