About Vijay Ahari
Vijay is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. He lives with his parents, brother, and two sisters in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals, they don’t have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is about two kilometers from their home which means gathering water each day is very laborious and time-consuming.
His parents have a little farm on a small field by their hut. Vijay helps with gardening, fetching water, tending livestock, and household chores. Vijay wants to become a preacher or a teacher one day. He loves to read, sing and dance. He also enjoys playing carom, cricket, and kho-kho. His favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice. Vijay comes from a Christian family; they attend church each Sunday, attend a Bible study, read the Bible, and pray together daily. Vijay needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Vijay!
