About Varsha Kumari Ahari

Varsha is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, two brothers, and one sister in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals, they don’t have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is about two kilometers from their home which means gathering water each day is very laborious and time-consuming.

Her parents have a little farm on the small field by their hut. Varsha helps with gardening, fetching water, cooking meals, household chores, tending livestock, and babysitting siblings. Varsha wants to become a nurse one day. She enjoys singing and reading along with playing badminton and kho-kho She enjoys vegetarian dishes with chapatti. Varsha comes from a Christian family; they attend church each Sunday, attend a Bible study, read the Bible and pray together daily. Varsha needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Varsha!
