About Tanu Bhoorasingh Bhangi
Tanu lives with her parents, grandmother, and one brother in a small village in North India. Their village, located on the plains, has a hot climate and experiences heavy precipitation in the monsoon season. Tanu and her family live in a small mud hut without electricity or running water. Helping her mother with household chores, Tanu collects water from a well 300 meters from their home. The family uses wood and cow pies to cook their meals over an open fire.
Tanu's parents work hard, her father as a laborer and her mother as a trash cleaner, to provide for their family. However, the lack of economic opportunity in their village makes it hard to finance Tanu's schooling. They need your help to provide for Tanu's school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other essentials. Tanu enjoys reading and aspires to become a teacher in the future. In her spare time, she likes to dance, sing, draw, and play board games. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetarian dishes, and chapatti. Tanu's family still practices their traditional Hindu religion, but they are exploring Christianity. Please pray that Tanu and her family will continue to pursue the God of the Bible.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Tanu!
