About Sugna Sagiya
Sugna Sagiya is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, two brothers, and three sisters in a mud hut. The family doesn't have access to electricity and they use wood as fuel to cook their meals, they cannot afford propane. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is an unskilled laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Her mother is a homemaker and Sugna helps her with household chores, fetching water from the well, gardening, and babysitting her siblings. Sugna wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read and enjoys singing and dancing along with playing kho-kho. She enjoys vegetarian dishes with rice and dal. Sugna comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday, read the Bible daily, attend a Bible study, and pray together daily. Sugna needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Sugna!
