About Sonam Barman
Sonam lives with her parents, one brother and two sisters in a small mud hut in a remote village in Central India. The climate in this village is hot and dry. This area also experiences monsoon and drought seasons. The village is located near a river in the jungle. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals.
Sonam helps with the household chores and babysitting her siblings. Her father is a laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Sonam loves to read and wants to become a teacher one day. In her spare time, Sonam enjoys playing soccer and cricket with her siblings and friends. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), chicken and chapatti.
Sonam comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and attend a Bible study. Sonam needs your help and support in providing for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
