7/19/24 - The child is staying at Home, not old enough to go to Katni.
Hi, my name is Shruti and I am from Central India. My father was a carpenter but now he has become legally blind so he can no longer work. My mother does some cleaning and cooking at different homes to earn money. My school is 3 miles away from my home and my older sister and I used to walk to school every day. My parents cannot afford to hire an Auto Rickshaw to take us to school, even this small amount is too much for them to pay. Now my sister already finished high school but I am only in elementary school. My parents are very worried about my safety when I will have to walk alone all this way. Our pastor told us about The Mercy Home and how this would be a safe option for me. I am so excited to say that I have been accepted! Praise God!
Thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity for Shruti! She is now in the safety of The Mercy Home where she will also be able to grow spiritually and academically. Here is a little more information about Shruti from her Dorm Mother: Shruti wants to become a nurse and serve sick people. Her favorite food is chicken curry and Indian fried rice. She enjoys dancing and drawing. She likes to play carom (an Indian board game) and volleyball. Because of you, she has hope, dignity, and a future! God bless you!!
