Shivjyoti comes from a very remote village with a tribal background. She has one brother and one sister. The family lives in a small mud hut. Her parents are new believers in Jesus Christ. Both of them work as unskilled field laborers.
With the help of our Mercy Home program and her sponsor, Shivjyoti was able to graduate High School in 2019. Shivjyoti is the only one in her family who has gone this far in education!
From her early childhood, Shivjyoti's dream was to become a nurse. Now her dream is much closer to reality, she was accepted into one of the best Nursing Colleges in the area for the three-year LVN program! Her parents want to support her and make that dream a reality but cannot afford her further education. They are also receiving a lot of pressure from both sides of the family to arrange a marriage for her. Therefore, they are seeking our College Scholarship program to help her to achieve her dream.
Shivjyoti has a sponsor that is able to cover only a portion of the sponsorship cost. She still needs $100 per month to fully cover her college cost.
