About Shalni Tandiya
Shalni came from a small village in Central India. She has two brothers. Her family used to live in the Jungle, but now they have a hut as the family lives with her grandfather (mother’s dad) who is a village preacher. Her mother is not educated and does labor work to earn what she can to help the family. Unfortunately, Shalni’s father left her mother for another woman about 9 years ago. They have not seen him since. They have a place to live but they are so poor that they can’t provide a good education for Shalni.
Shalni came to Mercy Home in 2022. She loves her new Mercy Home family and her new school. She likes praise and worship. She also likes to participate in Easter and Christmas dramas in her village house church. Shalni is shy but is very sincere and helpful. She is always helping other village children who call her “didi” (older sister).
She loves to eat Indian fried rice and chicken curry, but mangoes are her favorite. Shalni understands how blessed she is with the opportunity to live full-time at the
Mercy Home. She is very grateful for the opportunity given to her by you!
