About Shabnam Kaur
Shabnam Kaur lives with her parents, two brothers and two sisters in a mud hut in a small village in North India. The climate in this village is hot and humid. This area also experiences monsoon and drought seasons. The village is located in the plains. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is in close proximity to their home.
Shabnam helps with fetching water, cooking meals and doing household chores. Her father is a laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Shabnam wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys dancing, singing and reading along with playing kho-kho (an Indian game) and soccer. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken and chapatti.
Shabnam comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday, read the Bible and pray together daily. Shabnam needs your help and support in providing for school fees, uniform, books, school bag and other needs.
Thank you for helping to provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Shabnam!
