About Saya Bheel
Saya comes from a small tribal village located deep in the jungle. Led to Christ by Indian evangelists, Saya's parents are dedicated to reaching their neighbors with the Gospel. However, the family of seven is trapped in a difficult cycle of poverty and have few resources with which to provide for themselves. To survive, Saya's family lives off the land, growing their own food and making their own tools from jungle materials. As outspoken Christians, Saya and her family also face the dangers of persecution.
Concerned for the safety and future of their only daughter, Saya's parents sought out the help of the Mercy Home. Now living at the Mercy Home, Saya has the opportunity to attend a quality school and worship freely in church each week. To her parent's delight, Saya is growing spiritually and academically under the care of loving, mature Christians. She no longer has to worry about being raped, kidnapped, or persecuted for her faith. Inspired by her own teachers, Saya desires to become a teacher herself in the future. For now, she is content to play badminton and volleyball with her new friends. She also enjoys painting, drawing, and singing with a group. Some of her favorite foods are dal (lentils), chicken, and chapatti (Indian-style bread).
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Saya!
