About Sara Hirawat
Sara is from a small village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, her sister Madhu, and a brother in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals and they don't have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home.
Both of her parents are laborers, which means they take physically demanding, unskilled, and low-paid jobs on construction sites or in agricultural fields. Sara helps her parents with gardening, household chores, and babysitting her siblings, even though she is very young. Sara wants to become a nurse one day and we want to help her achieve that dream! She enjoys singing, reading, playing soccer, and kho-kho. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, and chapatti.
Sara comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Sara needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school supplies, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Sara!
