About Sapna Ahari
Sapna Ahari is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents and two sisters in a small mud hut. The family doesn't have access to electricity and they use wood as fuel to cook their meals, they cannot afford propane. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is a farmer. Her mother is a homemaker and Sapna helps with household chores, gardening, and tending livestock. Sapna wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys dancing and reading along with playing kho-kho. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, and chicken. Sapna comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Sapna needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
