About Sameer Ahirwar
Sameer lives with his parents and one brother, Saurabh. They live in a small, poor village in Central India. His mother is a homemaker and his father is a low-wage laborer. Their home is a one-room mud hut. Sameer enjoys helping his mother by fetching water from the village well which is located over 100 meters from their home. He carries jugs to fill that they will use for their daily cooking and cleaning. He also helps tend their limited livestock, which also lives in their home with them.
Sameer hopes to be an engineer one day. He enjoys reading and drawing and playing soccer with his friends. Their family lives on a simple diet of dal (lentils), white rice, and chapati (an Indian flatbread). On special occasions, they will kill a chicken and enjoy chicken curry.
