About Sachin Dhobi
Sachin's village is located on an open plain in Northern India. He lives with his parents, one brother, and one sister in a mud house with no electricity or running water. Their village is located in a warm climate, experiencing intense humidity during the rainfall of the monsoon season. To help his parents, Sachin takes care of his younger siblings. He also helps by collecting water from the well 200 meters from their hut and by cooking meals over a wood-burning fire.
Sadly, Sachin's father is an alcoholic and spends most of his earnings to feed his habit. Sachin's mother works as a housemaid to provide for her three children. However, the meager income earned from this difficult work is barely enough to meet the family's needs. To provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other essentials, Sachin needs your help. Despite the setbacks he has experienced, Sachin is eager to learn and desires to become a pastor in the future. He is active in his local church, participating in Bible study classes. In his spare time, Sachin enjoys dancing, singing, painting, drawing, and playing cricket. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, chapatti, mutton, and eggs.
