Thank You, Sponsors!!!
Rekha grew up in a small village of low-caste tribal Christians. Their tribal ancestors were evangelized by Indian missionaries, and as a result, were forced to flee religious persecution in their home region. The tribe refers to themselves as "The Believers," and meets regularly for worship and teaching. Rekha's father is the leader of their tribe, and their family constructed an adjoining room in their hut to use for community worship services. Rekha's parents work as farmers providing only a meager income for their family of eight. Additionally, the isolated location of their jungle home prohibits Rekha and her siblings from attending school.
Despite their grim situation, Rekha's parents prayed for a better future for their children. The answer to their prayers came through the opportunity for Rekha and three of her siblings, Nirmala, Yakub, and Ashish, to live at the Mercy Home. Rekha is now able to grow academically and spiritually, attending a quality school and participating in daily Bible study. Naturally a shy girl, Rekha is determined to study hard to reach her goal of being a nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing with her new friends and advancing her painting and drawing skills.
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Rekha!
