About Ragni Rawat

Ragini comes from a small, impoverished village. Her family built their own small house out of bricks of mud, and they live without electricity and any modern amenities. Both her parents are illiterate and work as unskilled laborers. Their low income makes it difficult to provide sufficient food for their four children. Ragini's parents are first-generation Christians, and they belong to their village church congregation. They long for their daughter to receive a good education, but the school in their village is poorly run and her parents cannot afford to send her to a private school.

When Ragini's parents heard of the Mercy Home, they knew it was the answer to their prayers. The Mercy Home provides Ragini with the opportunity to grow spiritually and academically, and to pursue her goals. She desires to become a doctor or nurse, serving the sick as Jesus did. At the Mercy Home, Ragini is able to live free of fear and hunger. Dancing, singing, playing kho-kho, and kicking around a soccer ball are some of Ragini's favorite past times. Ragini also enjoys eating her fill of rice and dhal (lentils).

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Ragini!
