About Puja Devi Dhuliya
Puja lives with her parents, one brother, and two sisters, Radhika and Prathiba in a very poor village in Central India. Their home is a humble one-room mud hut. Her mother is a housewife and her father is a fisherman. Puja helps her mother with gardening, hand washing clothes, and dishes, fetching wood and cow pies (manure) used as fuel to cook on, and going to the well to collect water for all their daily needs.
Puja dreams of becoming a nurse someday to help the people of her village. She loves to read and sing. When she has some free time you will see her playing an Indian game called Kho-Kho with her village friends. Her family eats very simply with mainly a diet of dal (lentils), white rice, fish, and chapati (an Indian flatbread). On special occasions, they will kill a chicken and enjoy some chicken curry.
Please pray for Puja, her family, and her village; for hundreds of years this village has been of the Hindu faith and we pray that the entire village will come to know the Lord. Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Puja!
