About Priya Choudhary
Priya comes from a small village in Central India. Her parents, together with one brother and two sisters, live in a small mud hut. One of her brothers has special needs. Her father and mother work as farm laborers and are extremely poor. While her Hindu family hasn't yet accepted Christ, they attend Church and participate in prayer meetings and Bible study with the local pastor. Priya's parents were afraid that there would be retaliation against their daughter from Hindu extremists because of their interest in Christianity (which often happens in India), and have asked to take her to the Mercy Home for her protection.
Priya is very excited to be admitted to the Mercy Home! Here she can freely worship the Lord Jesus Christ and grow in Him. Priya enjoys studying and wants to become a doctor one day. Priya enjoys dancing, playing kho-kho (an Indian game), and board games with her new friends. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, and chicken.
