About Prahlad Dhobi
In a small village in North India, Prahlad lives with his parents, brother, and sister. The family's home is a scanty mud hut without electricity or running water. To cook their meals they burn wood over an open fire and collect water from the well 200 meters from their home. Prahlad's village is located in a warm climate and experiences heavy rainfall during the summer monsoon season. He helps his parents by tending to the family's livestock. Prahlad aspires to continue his education to become an army officer in the future. However, his father's work as an unskilled laborer produces only a meager income for the family of five.
To provide for his school fees, school books, bag, uniform, and other educational essentials, Prahlad needs your help. In his spare time, Prahlad enjoys participating in a variety of activities, including dancing, singing, reading, painting, drawing, and playing with toys. He is also athletic and likes playing cricket and soccer with his friends. Some of Prahlad's favorite foods are rice, vegetarian dishes, eggs, dal (lentils), chicken, and chapatti (Indian-style bread). Due to a lack of calendar use in his village, Prahlad does not know the date of his birth. On his government ID, his birthday has been designated as January 1st.
