About Nisha Tandiya

Nisha came to Mercy Home from a very remote village located in Central India. She has one brother and one sister. Her parents are first-generation Christian, and the family is often facing persecution for converting to Christianity. Nisha's parents work as a field laborers, which means they often have to move to where the work is. Because of this, the children have to live with grandparents most of the time and walk about three miles to school. Because Nisha comes from a Christian family, she is very vulnerable to persecution, abuse, or kidnapping during her long walks to school.

Concerned for Nisha's safety, her parents sought out the help of the Mercy Home. Nisha is so grateful that she got this opportunity to join the Mercy Home family that became a safe haven for her and where she can grow spiritually and academically. She knows that it will change her future and eternity! Nisha loves to study. Understanding the value of education she wants to become a teacher one day. Nisha enjoys reading, dancing, and singing. She loves to play soccer and an Indian game called carom. She loves all kinds of food, but especially mangoes. Her favorite colors are pink and purple.

Thank you for helping to provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Nisha!
