About Nikil Kharadi
Nikil lives with his parents, one brother, Ashok, and two sisters, Manisha and Nirma, in a small mud-hut in a remote village in West India. Their village is located in a valley and often experiences seasons full of drought. The climate in this village is very hot and humid. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals because they do not have access to electricity. In order for the family to get water, they have to travel about 1 kilometer to the nearest well.
His father is an unskilled low-wage laborer and his mother is a homemaker. Nikil is the oldest child and he helps his parents with household chores, gardening, fetching the water from the well, and taking care of his siblings. Nikil wants to become a preacher one day. He loves to read and study his Bible. He enjoys playing carom with his siblings. His favorite foods are simple vegetarian meals and chapatti (an Indian flatbread).
Nikil comes from a Christian family; they enjoy going to church each Sunday. Nikil needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Nikil!
