About Neelkamal Markande
Neelkamal lives with his parents, one brother, and two sisters in a brick and concrete house in a town located in Central India by the lake and surrounded by jungles and mountains. The climate in this area is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood and propane as fuel to cook their meals. While the water well is not too far from their house, gathering water for all their daily needs is tedious and laborious.
Both of his parents are unskilled low-paid laborers. Since both of his parents work outside the home, Neelkamal helps with household chores, fetching water from the well and taking care of his younger siblings. Neelkamal wants to become a military officer. He enjoys dancing, singing and reading along with playing cricket. He and his family live on a simple diet of dal (lentils), white rice, some vegetables, and chapati.
Neelkamal comes from a Christian family; they regularly attend church and Bible study and have daily family Bible reading and prayer time. Neelkamal needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
