About Neelesh Malkhan
Neelesh lives with his parents, one brother, and one sister in a mud hut in a small village in Central India. The village sits atop bluffs overlooking a river where the climate is hot and humid. This area also experiences drought seasons. His father is a farm laborer and his mother is a housewife. They are very poor.
Neelesh helps a lot around the house; besides the regular household chores, he helps with fetching water from the village well, gathering firewood in the jungle to cook meals, and shopping for groceries at the market. Rice and dal (lentils) are his favorite foods, which are staples throughout India. His favorite game is carrom. Neelesh wants to be a doctor when he grows up. Neelesh needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, a uniform, books, a school bag, and other needs.
