About Manju Kumari Katara
Manju is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, brother, and sister in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals, they don’t have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home.
Her parents have a little farm on the small field by their hut. Manju helps with gardening, fetching water, cooking meals, household chores, tending livestock, and babysitting siblings. Manju wants to become a doctor one day. She enjoys singing along with playing badminton, and carom (Indian board game). Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice. Manju comes from a Christian family; they attend church each Sunday, attend a Bible study, read the Bible, and pray together daily. Manju needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Manju!
