About Manisha Saket

Manisha's parents come from a non-Christian background. They are part of the labor class. Along with her parents, there are three sisters and one brother in the family. Her parents travel to different places to cut the crops and help in construction. They live very poorly in a hut about 250 miles from Mercy Home. Manisha dreamed of a good education and a stable life in order to change her life here on this earth and for eternity. She convinced her parents that she could be like sister Sarswati (one of the successful Mercy Home graduates) if they would send her to Mercy Home. Her parents consented and brought her and her sister to Mercy Home and left them with us.

Manisha is fascinated by the story of Moses, all the things he did and how he became God's friend. She loves winter season and loves to eat rice, dal (split pea soup), and vegetables with poorie (the fried Indian bread). She loves everything white, cows, pigeons and white roses are her favorite. She wants to be a doctor or nurse and help village people like sister Sarswati. She enjoys singing, dancing, and studying. She has never lived in a place like Mercy Home. She says it is such a beautiful place because God's love flows here.

Thank you for helping to provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Manisha!
