Manisha Ahirwal’s parents are first-generation Christians from a village in Central India. They are both laborers, but there is no stable work in that village, so in order to get better wages and regular work they have moved near Delhi where they live in a slum area. However, slums are not a safe place for a young girl to live. Manisha's parents are so poor that they cannot take care of her education. Manisha's parents are grateful for Mercy Home where she can be safe and grow spiritually and academically.
Manisha is happy to be part of the Mercy Home family where she can safely worship the Lord and continue her education. Manisha likes to study and wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys singing and playing badminton and carom. Her favorite food is chicken; back home she could enjoy meat only on special occasions, now she can have it much more often.
