About Laxmi Ahirwar

Laxmi came from a small, remote village where she lived with her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Her father is a first-generation Christian. When he accepted Christ and later became a village preacher, all his relatives shunned him and his family, they even did a death ritual, as if they had all died. So now they live in a small rented village hut. To provide for the family, Laxmi's father works as a laborer in and around the village, but often faces persecution and is ridiculed for his faith. The Covid pandemic was very hard on everyone in the village, as there were no jobs and the schools were closed. Laxmi's parents prayed for a better future for their children.

The family came to know about The Mercy Home and after applying, Laxmi and her sister Surbhi were so delighted to learn that they had been accepted! They are now able to attend one of the best schools and live without worries of being persecuted or going hungry. Their lives now will be transformed forever!!

Someday Laxmi would like to become a nurse and help others. She loves her new school and studies hard. Laxmi enjoys singing, playing soccer, badminton, and carom with her Mercy Home sisters. She loves all kinds of Indian food and is so thankful to God for the abundance of it at The Mercy Home.

Thank you for your love, prayers, and your generosity to make this happen. You have truly given Laxmi hope, dignity, and a future!! God bless you!!
