About Komal Batham
Komal lives with her parents and brother in a brick and mud house in a town located by the lake and surrounded by jungles and mountains in Central India. The climate in this area is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood and propane as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is over 300 feet from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father works as a painter. Her mother picks up random low-wage jobs to help the family's finances. Komal helps with household chores, cooking meals, gardening, and fetching water from the well. Komal wants to become a nurse one day. She loves to read and enjoys playing soccer. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetables, chicken, and chapatti.
Komal comes from a Christian family. Despite facing persecution for their faith, they attend church every Sunday and have a daily family Bible reading and prayer time. Our prayer is that the entire town will come to know Jesus Christ. Your sponsorship will provide Komal an education, school supplies, lunch, shoes, and basic needs.
