About Kajal Markande

Kajal lives with her parents, two brothers, and a sister in a brick and concrete house in a town located in Central India by a lake and surrounded by jungles and mountains. The climate in this area is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood and propane as fuel to cook their meals. While the water well is not too far from their house, gathering water for all their daily needs is tedious and laborious.
Both of her parents are unskilled low-paid laborers. Since both of her parents work outside the home, Kajal helps with household chores, cooking meals, and fetching water from the well. Kajal wants to become a doctor one day. She enjoys dancing, singing, and reading along with playing carom and badminton. Her favorite foods are vegetables, chicken, and chapatti.
Kajal comes from a Christian family; they attend church and Bible study regularly and have daily family Bible reading and prayer time. Kajal needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
