About Jyoti Bavankar

Jyoti Bavankar lives with her parents and one brother in a small mud hut in a remote located in the jungles of Central India. The climate in this village is hot and humid. This area also experiences seasons of both monsoons and droughts. As a fuel to cook their meals the family uses wood they collect from the jungle and occasionally propane. The water well the family uses is close proximity to their home. They carry jugs and pots to the well to gather the water needed for all cleaning, cooking, and bathing.

Jyoti helps her parents with fetching water, cooking meals, and doing other household chores. Her father and mother are both low-wage laborers. Jyoti wants to become a police officer one day. She enjoys reading along with playing kho-kho (an Indian game). Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.

Please pray for Jyoti as she comes from a Hindu family with no Christian believers. Jyoti needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, school uniform, books, school bag, and other needs such as school lunches and shoes.

Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Jyoti!
