About Jaya Bhil
Jaya Bhil came to the Mercy Home from an extremely remote tribal community where she lived in a jungle with her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. The tribe owns some land where they live and grow some crops. These people are very strong Christians and they focus on righteous living. When they became believers, they were forced out from their region, so they moved together out in a jungle. They have built their own church – a special big room adjoining the home of their leader. They live in extreme simplicity but have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. They don’t have electricity in their homes and live in great poverty. They cook their meals on an open fire of wood and cow dunk patties. The tribe members never went to school. However, now they realize that school would give their children a much better future. Jaya and her sister used to walk seven kilometers to the nearest government school, however, this was not safe and very difficult, especially during monsoon season or in a hot weather. This was a small school with only one teacher who teaches all five classes.
Jaya and her sister Roshani are very happy to be part of the Mercy Home family. Here they can live in safety, worship the Lord without fear of the persecution, and receive a great education. Jaya enjoys dancing, singing, and playing badminton. Her favorite foods are dal and rice.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Jaya!
