About Ishika Singh
Ishika comes from a dedicated Christian family. Though her parents are uneducated, they have a fulfilling job working as office servants in a private school. However, this position does not provide enough income for Ishika's parents to send her to a quality school. Prior to her arrival at the Mercy Home, Ishika attended a public school. However, due to corruption in the Indian government, the public schools are poorly run and many kids are allowed to graduate high school without even knowing how to read or write. In addition, Ishika's family lives in an impoverished neighborhood with high crime and the risk of rape and kidnapping.
Seeing the great potential in their daughter, Ishika's parents sought out the Mercy Home to help provide a good education and a safe home for her. Now, living at the Mercy Home, Ishika is blossoming academically and spiritually. She is a hard-working student and would like to attend medical college in the future. Following the example of her parents, Ishika is also committed to pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ. She loves attending church weekly and studying the Bible with her new friends in the Mercy Home. In her spare time, Ishika enjoys playing badminton, making crafts, and drawing.
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Ishika!
