Ishika Sahgal was at Mercy Home from her early elementary school years. Thanks to the support of her sponsors she was able to graduate High School and the Mercy Home program in 2019! Ishika is now going to Nursing College for the RN program. Thank you, sponsors, for continue being a blessing to Ishika!!
Below is her Mercy Home profile:
Ishika's father is an auto driver and her mother works in labor to help support the family. She has two younger brothers who she took care of when her parents were at work. While her parents were working, her brothers would play outside with other boys from the slums, and her parents were always worried about this, because of the history of terrible things happening to slum children. They attend one of the Christian Churches established by the mission. Ishika's parents asked if she could be given a place at Mercy Home because she herself became the victim of evil men or sex traffickers in the slums.
Ishika is now in a safe place, growing physically, spiritually, and academically. Ishika wants to become the highest government official in the district, a collector. She loves the story of Noah, and her favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 1:29. Her favorites include mangos, bananas, rose flowers, dogs, pigeons, and a spicy meat dish called Biryani.
