About Govind Paragi
Govind lives in a small village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. He lives with his parents and his brother Rohit in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals as they cannot afford propane and they don't have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is about a third of a mile from their home which makes getting water every day laborious and tedious.
Govind comes from a dedicated Christian family. His father is a laborer which means he works in unskilled jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. His mother is a homemaker and, even though he is very young, Govind helps with fetching water and doing other household chores. Govind loves to read and wants to become a teacher one day. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the traditional Indian game Sitoliya. His favorite foods are rice, chicken, and chapatti. Govind needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Govind!
