About Gillu Bhil
Gillu Bhil came to the Mercy Home from an extremely remote tribal community where she lived in a jungle with her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. The tribe owns some land where they live and grow some crops. These people are very strong Christians and they focus on righteous living. When they became believers, they were forced out from their region, so they moved together out in a jungle. They have built their own church – a special big room adjoining the home of their leader. They live in extreme simplicity but have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. They don’t have electricity in their homes and live in great poverty. They cook their meals on an open fire of wood and cow dunk patties. The tribe members never went to school. However, now they realize that school would give their children a much better future. Last year they came to us requesting that we do something for their children’s education and guide their children to a way of dignity, hope, and a future.
Gillu is very happy to be part of the Mercy Home family! Gillu is an enthusiastic girl. She likes to dance, sing, study, and play cricket. Her favorite foods are chicken and mutton. Gillu wants to study and become a teacher. She also wants to lead a better life. Now, with a help of the Mercy Home, her dream can become a reality!
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Gillu!
