About Ganesh Vishwakarma
Ganesh started attending the Oasis of Love School in July of 2018. He quickly made friends there and has grown to love the community provided by his classmates and caring teachers. Ganesh faces many challenges, including a speech and walking impairment. Despite these obstacles, Ganesh enjoys learning and is eager to further his skills. At Oasis, he has the opportunity to learn to read and write and to study basic arithmetic.
In his free time, Ganesh enjoys playing carom, an Indian table game, with his friends. Each day, he travels to Oasis with his younger sister, Vaishnavi, in the Oasis bus. When he is not at school, Ganesh is looked after by his mother while his father works as a carpenter. He especially likes it when his mother cooks traditional Indian vegetarian dishes for the family to eat. Ganesh is grateful for the new uniform, shoes, socks, and a school bag he received so he can continue to attend school.
