About Diksha Ahirwal
NOTE: Diksha Ahirwal moved back home in 2017.
Diksha Ahirwal came to Mercy Home from a village in Central India where she lived in a mud hut with her parents and two brothers. Her grandfather was the first member of the family to accept Christ and her parents followed him. Both her mother and father are laborers. But her father suffers from sciatica pain which restricts him from working every day. Because her parents cannot get steady work in the village they must travel to the city for months at a time to find jobs and better pay. While her parents are away, Diksha's grandfather was taking care of her. However, he is getting weak and can no longer take care of her. Diksha had to walk three kilometers every day to attend school. Her grandfather and her parents are very grateful that
Diksha was given an opportunity to live in the Mercy Home where she can live in safety and receive a proper spiritual and academic education.
Diksha is happy to be part of the Mercy Home family. She loves to study and wants to become a nurse one day. Diksha also enjoys dancing and doing crafts. She likes to play Kho-Kho and badminton. Her favorite foods are dal (split pea soup), rice, chapatti (Indian bread), vegetables, and chicken.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Diksha!
