About Ashish Khokariya
Ashish lives with his parents and five sisters in a small mud hut in a remote village in West India. This village is located in a valley, where the climate is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. Unlike many other residents of this village, they are blessed to have electricity in their hut. The water well the family uses is about 500 meters from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
His father is a driver. His mother is a homemaker and Ashish helps his mom with household chores. Ashish wants to become a teacher one day. He loves to read and enjoys playing carom, an Indian board game. He likes simple vegetarian meals and his favorite food is chapatti (an Indian flatbread).
Ashish comes from a Christian family; they enjoy going to church each Sunday. Ashish needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
