About Ashish Govardhan Bhil
Ashish grew up in an isolated tribal village in Central India. Located deep in the jungle and far from accessible roads, the village provided little opportunity or income for Ashish and his family. His parents are both illiterate and work as farmers, growing vegetables and corn on small plots of land. Dedicated Christians and active members of their village church, they worked hard to provide for Ashish and his five siblings and to instill in them the Truth of Christ. Graciously, they open up their small home for church worship and teaching.
Ashish's parents longed to improve their son's situation but the area's only school is located several miles away and can only be reached by dangerous jungle trails. In addition, their Christian faith puts them at risk of persecution from Hindi extremists. Now, however, through the Mercy Home, his life will be transformed. It provides a safe place for Ashish to continue to grow academically and spiritually. Ashish loves spending time with his siblings, Nirmala, Rheka, and Yakub, also residents of the Mercy Home. Ashish expresses his joy through singing and dancing, and he loves to play cricket with his new friends. Empowered by his new situation, Ashish dreams of contributing to society and God's kingdom by becoming a lawyer.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Ashish!
