About Amrit Dhobi
Amrit comes from a small village located on the plains of Northern India. The hot climate in this village is intensified by humidity from heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. For all of his young life, Amrit has lived in a mud hut without electricity or running water. Amrit shares this home with his father, mother, two brothers, sister, and grandparents. The family relies on each other for support; Amrit's grandparents help his mother by taking care of their grandkids, and Amrit helps his grandparents by watching his younger siblings. Additionally, Amrit collects water from the well near their home.
To provide for his family of eight, Amrit's father works low-income jobs as a laborer. In order to pay for school fees, uniform, school books, school bag, and other essentials, Amrit needs your help. He enjoys reading and studying and aspires to become a lawyer in the future. When he has spare time, he likes to practice dancing and singing as well as play cricket. Amrit's favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetarian dishes, chapatti (Indian-style bread), and eggs. Although they still practice their traditional Hindu religion, Amrit's family has been exploring Christianity. Please pray that they will continue to pursue a relationship with the God of the Bible.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Amrit!
