About Akhilesh Bheel
Akhilesh Bheel belongs to the Bhil tribe. He and his family, along with his tribe, have lived in the jungle, hidden from the outside world for years. Their way of living is very primitive. The village does not have electricity, running water, or even roads. Akhilesh has never seen a bathroom, a bed, or even a table or chairs before coming to the Mercy Home. His family lives off the jungle without good water resources in their area. They also grow some crops near their house and plow their field with oxen. Akhilesh's parents are completely illiterate and work as field laborers. They want a better future for their five children.
Through the Mercy Home, Akhilesh and his younger brother Kailash have the opportunity to transform their lives. Akhilesh wants to become a teacher when he grows up. He loves to dance and sing and enjoys the Sunday school at church and the daily devotionals at Mercy Home. In his spare time, Akhilesh likes to play cricket with his new friends. He loves to eat all kinds of food as he has been taught not to waste any food. Akhilesh was thrilled to receive new clothes and school uniform, as back home he had only one set of very worn-out clothes.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Akhilesh!
