About Aarti Dahiya

NOTE: Aarti Dahiya moved back home in 2016.

Aarti comes from a very poor family. Her father is a laborer and her mother is a homemaker. Aarti has two brothers and one sister. Her family lives in a house made of bricks with mud plaster in a small village in Central India. Aarti's parents are new followers of Christ which makes them persecution targets of the Hindu extremists in their village. It was dangerous for Aarti to remain at home, as girls are often the first to be attacked or kidnapped.

Aarti is excited to be admitted to the Mercy Home; she knows it will transform her life. Aarti likes to help others and wants to become a doctor one day.

She likes to draw and sing. Her favorite color is blue. She plays Kho-Kho and loves the simple meal of dal, rice, vegetables, and roti (Indian bread).

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Aarti!
