About Rakesh Kharadi
Rakesh lives with his parents, one brother, and one sister in a small mud hut in a remote village in West India. This village is located in a valley, where the climate is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. They do not have electricity. The water well the family uses is nearly a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
His father is an unskilled low-wage laborer. His mother is a homemaker and Rakesh helps with household chores and watching younger siblings. Rakesh wants to become a teacher one day. He enjoys playing Kabaddi, an Indian sport in which teams send raiders to the opposing team to tag them for points. His favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.
Rakesh comes from a Christian family; they enjoy going to church each Sunday. Rakesh needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Rakesh!
