About Anjali Kumari Paragi

Anjali lives with her parents, one brother, and two sisters, Anita and Sahara, in a small mud-hut in a remote village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals as they cannot afford propane and don’t have access to electricity. The well the family uses is about one kilometer from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Anjali comes from a Christian family; they faithfully attend church each Sunday. Anjali's father is an unskilled laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Her mother is a homemaker. Anjali helps her mom with household chores. Anjali wants to become a nurse one day. She loves to read. She also enjoys playing kho-kho with her siblings and friends. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, chapatti, and mutton. Anjali needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school supplies, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Anjali!
