A Place To Call Home

As construction on the new Mercy Home progresses, Mid India Child welcomes 16 new girls! These girls have faced heartache at every turn but have now been given the opportunity for a fresh start. Away from abuse, hard labor, and sex trafficking the 16 new girls have a chance for something they never imagined: freedom.

Amal, one of the newest Mercy Home girls, shares her story. As a young girl, Amal has been through more than most adults face in a lifetime. She came to the Mercy Home because her mother was burned alive…by her father. With her mother no longer alive and her father facing prison time, Amal no longer had a family to call her own. That’s when she found hope in the Mercy Home. Since arriving at the Mercy Home, Amal has found comfort in the form of friendships and a safe place to call home.

When a girl is welcomed to the Mercy Home, she receives much more than just a place to stay. Thanks to you, our generous sponsors, girls at the Mercy Home can begin a new life. Upon arrival, girls receive room and board. They are then enrolled in school and given uniforms, books, and supplies. The girls are also given clothes, shoes, and personal care items. To ensure safety and well-being, there is a house mom and 24 hour security. The opportunities presented to these girls are endless. With their basic needs met, they no longer have to worry about surviving; they get to focus on thriving.
